Our Ingredients
We love to use mild, natural ingredients in all of our formulations. We use natural products that have been obtained straight from a natural source, such as botanical oils that are cold-pressed or steam-extracted, and those that are derived from nature, such as emulsifiers in creams and lotions which are modified versions of naturally-sourced ingredients, including coconuts, sugarcane and olive oil.
Occasionally, we may use nature-identical ingredients which are manmade but bear the exact same chemical structures as their natural counterparts, such as some of our vitamins and preservatives. This is because the extraction of certain materials from nature would simply be too costly and unsustainable as they are only present in small quantities in nature. However, their performance and benefits will be the same.

Natural products are prone to interact with living systems, including the human body. While this can mean the provision of positive changes to our skin, occasionally natural products can also trigger unwanted side effects, including allergies and rashes. That is why the selective choice of ingredients and concentrations is so crucial.
At Sheen’s Botanicals, our philosophy is to include only those natural ingredients that are well-established and have truly stood the test of time. Drawing from traditional wisdom, we love to use and combine herbs. Unlike single bioactive components that are highly concentrated, plant extracts are made up of complex combinations of many phytochemical substances present in relatively low concentrations. When herbal extracts are combined safely and appropriately, they can work synergistically to provide the best efficacy but without the risk of triggering safety concerns due to their low concentrations.
Our promise
We promise to use the utmost care in the selection and formulation of our products to ensure they are as mild and gentle to the skin as possible. We do not use harsh ingredients such as soaps and sulphates and actively avoid many controversial ingredients including parabens, silicones, PEGs, mineral oil, petrolatum, artificial colours and fragrances.
